La Cenerentola – an opera-cooperation between Bergen, Os and Voss.
The family opera about La Cenerentola will be a grand regional cooperation between Den Nye Opera, Oseana, Voss kulturhus, the culture schools of Bergen, Os and Voss and Ung Symfoni.

Twice the receiver of German magazine Opernwelt's prize "Director of the year", Stefan Herheim is one of the most innovative and in-demand opera directors in the world. He is also the first Norwegian director to work at Wagner's Bayreuth, and directed another of Händel's operas, Giulio Cesare, to great acclaim.
Opening with one of Händel's most celebrated melodies, Ombra mai fu – best known as his Largo – Serse is full of arias of astonishing variety, almost all motivated by love. The story is royally domestic, with no great political sweep or heroic causes, but concerns Serse, King of Persia and his brother Arsamene as rivals for the affections of Romilda. Cross dressing, intrigue, treachery and threatened suicide ensue, before reconciliation restores peace to the noble household, and love and honour to the rightful couple.
